CLI

Command-Line Interface
A way of interacting with a computer program where the user types successive lines of text on a keyboard to issue commands to the program. The CLI was the primary means of interaction with most popular operating systems before graphical user interface (GUI) was invented. Although CLI is now less widely used by general computer users, it is often preferred by computer system operators and advanced users, as it provides a more concise and powerful means to control a program or operating system.
