IPv6

Internet Protocol version 6
A network layer standard used by electronic devices to exchange data across a packet-switched internetwork. It follows IPv4 as the second version of the Internet Protocol to be formally adopted for general use. The primary change from IPv4 to IPv6 is the length of network addresses. IPv6 addresses are 128 bits long (as defined by RFC 2373 and RFC 2374), typically written as 32 hex digits. This gives a total of 2128 or 3.4×1038 addresses compared to 4.3×109 addresses supported by IPv4.
